Meet the Feather and Nest Team

Whether you’ve visited us in our Wallingford and Didcot stores or have only discovered us online, we’re keen for you to get to know us a little better. Founded by Angela, our team has now grown to include other brilliant women who are also running their own businesses. From those growing their side hussles to full-time creatives, we’re sharing a little bit of backstory around each of our fantastic team members.

Angela, Feather and Nest founder

Angela Dobson

Angela, heading up the Feather and Nest team, founded the brand in 2015. The Wallingford store first opened its doors in October of that year, committing to offering products with personality and standing out among the shops in the area. Angela has a wealth of experience in retail buying after working for several major highstreet retailers for many years. Her know-how when it comes to sourcing and selecting products allows her to track down brilliant ethical brands and support those that are lovingly created in the UK.

Karen, founder of Mrs B. Designs

Karen Brumfitt

Karen can usually be found in our Wallingford store. She takes care of the day-to-day running of our original shop, but when she’s not there, you’ll find her in her garden studio. Originally from Yorkshire, Karen has a BA in Fashion and Textiles and also pursued a career in retail buying. In 2015 she decided to swap office life for more creative pursuits and thus, Mrs B. Designs was born.

Her brand, which is stocked at Feather and Nest, focuses on bold, fun designs, often including screen printing techniques and witty quotes and slogans. From tote bags and cushions to pocket mirrors and notebooks, Karen’s work makes great gifts. You can check out her brilliant products on Etsy.

Sophie, founder of ST Creative Designs

Sophie Thompson

The next member of our team is Sophie, founder of ST Creative Designs. Gaining inspiration from patterns, textures and lines when travelling, she creates illustrations in the form of prints and cards. Many of her pieces feature architecture from the local Oxfordshire area, including Broad Street and the Radcliffe Camera in the city of Oxford . You can also discover her colourful work on Etsy.

Eirini, Eirini Scott Creative Design

With experience working with a range of start-ups and well-known highstreet brands, Eirini has a passion for designing innovative childrenswear. After spending time studying fashion in the US, Eirini then completed a BA Hons degree in Fashion Design with Technology in the UK. Now, Eirini works freelance and has an inspiring portofolio to explore on her website.

And finally, introducing Lulu, who works with us at the weekends. Currently a student, she’s about to start studying art, production design and psychology at A Level and dreams of doing something in the design field in the future. Lulu has been a brilliant addition to the team who loves interacting with our customers and helping them find their perfect picks.

That’s the Feather and Nest team of creative women in a nutshell. We’d love to get to know you more too, so please don’t be afraid to say hi when you’re next in store!
