Support Local Designers at Our Oxford Etsy Pop-Up this Autumn

We bet you’ve heard of Etsy. But, if you haven’t, let’s fill you in. Founded in 2005, Etsy is an online marketplace for handmade and vintage items. With an admirable goal of ‘keeping commerce human’, Etsy is an antidote to our mass-produced culture. The company believes that “creativity can’t be automated and human connection can’t be commoditised.” And we couldn’t agree more! The platform connects talented designers creating unique and unusual products to millions of buyers who are searching for that something a little bit different. Sounds great, right?

Feather and Nest

As an independent business, we know how important it is to have a platform to reach the right audiences, which is why we’re teaming up with Oxford Etsy, a local group of Etsy sellers. Through a six week pop-up event, from 10th September until 15th October, Feather and Nest will be showcasing products from seven fabulous local makers in store. While we say it’s a pop-up, it’s more of a ‘pop in’! We hope to see as many people as possible popping in over the six weeks to support the local designers. Who can you expect to see? We’ll be hosting Mrs B Designs, Miller and Jeeves, Lilac Tree Lane, Giddings Gifts, Little Foxglove Crafts, Illustrate My Name and Chameleon Wall Art.

Meet the Makers from Oxford Etsy

Mrs B Designs

Karen, the founder of Mrs B Designs, creates striking, often colourful products that appeal to children, teens and adults. Her art form of choice is screen printing combined with sewing. Karen makes all of her products in her garden studio in Cholsey, Oxfordshire.

Liz learned these techniques whilst training at a saddlery school. Each piece is hand cut and crafted in Liz’s Oxfordshire workshop using the highest quality materials. The pieces express the natural quality of the leather and reflect modern and classic trends.
